(August 31, 2018, 4:51 pm)What I like about Holy Cross, and I got this from the abbot Stephen himself, is their dedication to their visitors. What Holy Cross does is they avoid all sorts of ethic forms of Orthodox, Holy Cross is not Greek, Russian, or Romanian, its Orthodox. Whenever someone new comes there the abbot Stephen always tries to talk with them and get to know them. They do a lot of work there to put up with high prices of property in Castro Valley for the sake of the people. When I was there he even let me read from the Psalter, which I don't think is very normal but very nice. They are very nice to their guests and if a woman comes in without a scarf on her head he does not try to embarrass them. I strongly recommend everyone go there for their services, it is a great place!
