“We love it here. We usually come 4 days a week. It’s a great place for other social dogs to run and play. The regulars here are good people and look out for their dog/clean up after themselves. Shovels are provided to clean up and a shared water bowl/hose, although that gets pretty dirty quickly from dogs playing in it. A good tip is to bring your own bowl for your pup and use the hose to fill it up.”

“This is hilly area and as you climb up the trail the view is better and better. At the top there is a nice bench where you can rest, eat a sandwich and admire the area towards the West. When the weather is clear you can see San Francisco. For a longer trail of about 6 miles you can park in Don Castro park (free on weekdays) and navigate your way based on the EBMUD supplied maps or your own.”

“What I really enjoy about this park is that it's a very good sized park that is subdivided into 3 other little sections for the appropriate ages. I also like that this park isn't too overwhelmingly large and although it is a good size park you still have a good 360 view of where the children are. It's too cold right now but there is a little splash park for the kids that is amazing in the hotter days especially in the summer. I've gone to several birthday parties here and I always enjoy myself. There's a baseball field and community center adjacent to the park itself.”

Proctor Staging Area

“The beautiful 10 Hills Trail starts (or ends) here and runs out to Lake Chabot. It makes its way through a cool and shady Live Oak and Bay tree forest, so nice to walk on warmer days. This has a nice combination of ups and downs and I would rate it at medium to easy as far as difficulty. If you go along Redwood Road and into the golf course, you can catch Brandon trail which runs up to the Chabot campground and the several trails that run along the back side of the lake. Brandon trail is a steady 1.5 mile medium difficulty walk to the top.”

“What an amazing hike! Hiked from here all the way to Valle Vista Staging Area near Moraga, 17 miles, and rarely saw a soul. You'll need an EBMUD permit (5 years for $30 I think), lots of water, a meal, and strong knees. There is quite a bit of up and down. If the cows are blocking the way, just walk towards them and they'll move. And don't step on salamanders!”

“Very nice park, quiet and calm, in the middle of the forest. It is from 45 min from San Francisco counting the traffic, it is a long way but it is perfect if you plan to stay more than one night and considering that San Francisco streets are not good to move in trailers or motorhome as you have several ups and downs plus the traffic. Beautiful and Full hookups , perfect for stay 3 days and the staff is very kind.”
