Great quality service for people that are serious about flight training. Hayward Flight focuses more on quality of training for individuals to develop a strong foundation. Going into flight training can carry a lot of weight. I feel that Hayward Flight instructors are trained to meet the student needs, at the same time as a student I need to apply myself as well to have a great outcome. Thanks Hayward Flight for all that you have provide.
Hayward Flight is an awesome flight school and they’ve treated me well through my training since day 1. The staff and instructors are knowledgeable and very professional, I’ve had no problems scheduling an aircraft for training or leisure purposes. The crew that maintains the aircraft is also on site so they are always up and running. My instructor Math and Chris are some of the best pilots I’ve flown with. Alex and Dennis at the front office are always nice and welcoming, and te Manager Juan does an exceptional job making sure all operations are running smoothly.
Thank you, Hayward Flight for helping me get my private pilot license. It was an amazing journey.
Like many people, learning to fly is a dream I’ve had since I was a kid. It took almost 50 yrs. to get there, but I finally realized my dream at Hayward Flight. Before committing to the pilot training program at Hayward Flight, I checked many places around Bay Area. The key to my decision in choosing Hayward Flight School was that I was lucky to find an amazing instructor, Rick Cascelli. After having a few lessons with other instructors, I knew Rick was the one. Rick is a great instructor that will help you get where you want, but you need to educate yourself and be fair with yourself on how committed you want to be to flying instructions. There is a huge difference between enjoying flying a plane with an instructor versus taking flying lessons to learn how to become a pilot. Rick’s instructional style is very thorough and he does not rush you if he feels you need the time to practice. This is important because he wants you to be a safe and smart new pilot.
Once you figure out if you want to stay for a while and get comfortable flying (with an instructor) versus committing yourself to meet the required standards and steps needed to face the DPE (FAA examiner), Hayward flight will help you. Thank you Juan (Operations Manager) for providing the tools, guidance and planes needed for the training program (plane scheduling and maintenance, test prep material, and FAA examiner guidelines and recommendation). Thank you again to Rick, my flight instructor who carried me on his shoulders all the way, and who put up with my crazy personality, frustrations, and challenging moments to see me achieve my lifelong dream of becoming a pilot.
Either way, if you just want to try it out or go for the real thing, I recommend you to try Hayward Flight!
Hayward Flight is an excellent place to train to fly, especially if you are diligent, disciplined and willing to make the commitment.
I already had years of experience in my flight simulator at home and had read through the Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge before I started training for private pilot license.
While I was searching for a flight school near my area, I found that Hayward flight was by far more responsive and professional than the alternatives.
Abel, my instructor, was very honest and candid in pointing out that flight schools will lose money if they accepted students like me who practice and study a lot at home.
He was at first a little skeptical about my fortitude (with good reasons too I assumed, probably having been disappointed by a few lackadaisical students in his career), but after a couple lessons he quickly realized he needn't worry.
He always thinks and advices in the interest of his students, for which I am grateful.
We made a great team and accomplished my first solo in 7.2 hours.
This was not because he made training easy for me. On the contrary, he kept setting challenging but realistic goals for me so that we were both very confident when we made the call to solo. At one point I couldn't tell if we were in turbulence or Abel was simulating it with his controls to improve my landing skills.
So if you're looking for quality training and want to make it effective by hard work, I certainly recommend Hayward Flight. They will be accommodating!
