(May 21, 2020, 5:13 pm)This is the first School I visited on my month long journey to find a flight School. I traveled to all parts of the bay area, visited 3+ different schools at each airport and made it back to Flying Vikings! Glad I did so! To me it had such a homie feel to it. I am a Schedule Nut Case and like my day, weeks, months, planed out. Here at FV they were more than able to work with my schedule! Mr. Alex, he is the best! No need for details but he is there to train you for flying and goes over the top for Safety! Which all of us PPL holder's know how much that means. Yes the planes are basic gauges but thats all you need to get all the licenses you wish to acquire. Best way to learn is from the basics!
So my main reasoning to join Flying Vikings are, they work with your schedule, their instructor's are they to TRAIN you, and to top it off you can work all the steps untill the final Comercial pilot license. Happy ✈ flights

Did about 1/2 of my flight training here with Mats, and glad I did. I've had 4 instructors over the years and 2 of them were just plain bad... which apparently is quite common. Those bad instructors were sour, rude, and demeaning to me as a student pilot.
Mats was the opposite. He's patient, nice, and accommodating. When I don't get it the first time he'll help me learn at my own pace without making me stress about those failures or mistakes.
Regarding Flying Vikings — the planes are not the newest but are well maintained... and the booking system is paper, not online. If you want the newest planes and the latest G1000s though, go down the street and pay 30% more per hour.
(January 1, 2015, 8:56 pm)Mat's was fantastic!!! My son has wanted to learn to fly for a long time. He was extremely patient with my 9 year old son. My wife and I really like Mat's. He is beyond sweet and gentle with kids. My 9 year old son actually found Flying Vikings on Yelp and he is the one that actually choose Flying Vikings. Just an awesome day!!!
