Dr. Christine and her nutritionist Lindsay are thorough, patient and quite knowledgeable. After just a few weeks on a program to eliminate problem foods, reintroduce selectively, and clean out my gut with a mix of nutraceuticals, I am beginning to feel more energy.

They cover the whole wellness spectrum, including sleep issues and stress reduction.

After each major consultation, I am sent a summary of the notes and recommended steps going forward -- a documented treatment plan and updates. That's something I haven't received from any other medical professional, and it's very helpful in keeping me on the same page with my doctors and on track.

Lindsay sent me a list of the 15 foods we agreed I will reintroduce in the next six weeks, and included a list of recipes, so I can be as comfortable as possible with the reintroduction.

Overall, I have a long way to go, but I'm feeling confident that I'll conquer long-standing digestive (and other) issues and restore my energy.

My experience with Christine has been nothing but positive! She's easy to talk to and understand. I came to her after receiving muscle relaxers from my regular Dr. , which I was uncomfortable taking. Glad I made the choice to call her! After a few sessions, my back and neck pain have almost completely went away.

Christine Dao has demonstrated in my life that she is an expert with Oriental Medicine, and is firmly grounded in a naturopathic/integrated/functional medicine approach to healing. Here’s my story:

A year after a successful prostate cancer surgery, my blood tests, which had been clean all year, showed signs of stress, which could indicate the barest beginnings of a recurrence. I looked for a practitioner of Oriental Medicine. My brother, a student of Oriental Medicine, gave me questions to ask, and she answered them all to his warm approval. There was another clinic in town that seemed to be very good as well. I chose Christine because English is her first language; I trusted that she understood what I was saying, and that I understood what she was saying. I have not always trusted my communications with acupuncturists in the past.

What I can do about cancer is address diet, exercise, sleep, and stress, as well as find and follow sound medical advice. Christine is very knowledgeable about diet, and while I didn’t necessarily like all her suggestions at first, I have found them to be nutritionally accurate. With moderate effort, I have integrated sound nutrition into my diet in a way that is doable, affordable, and enjoyable. Exercise was a challenge for me because I had pains in my back and feet, as well as a tear in my rotator cuff. She treated all my aches and pains and kept me going. She treats my sleep and stress with needles and herbs.

Eventually the sound medical advice indicated fairly cogently that it would be in my best interest to have radiation therapy. I saw Christine once a week during radiation. People expected me to be dragged out and exhausted and to need a lot of down time. The doctors expected me to experience a number of side effects. What happened was, I did radiation five days a week for seven weeks, and I maintained my work schedule, and I did not get dragged out and I suffered very minimal side effects. At the end of treatment, the radiation oncologist was amazed at the absence of side effects, and at my high energy level. He attributed my amazing performance to my diet and my acupuncture, both of which I attribute to Christine.

Having met the out of pocket max with the radiation, I decided it was time to have my rotator cuff surgically repaired. My physical therapist was amazed at my rapid recovery. My surgeon was also very impressed, and referred to me as “the poster child” for this surgery. About three months after surgery, I started lifting weights. Again, I attribute my recovery to the pre- and post-surgical treatments by Christine.

Today, I am grateful that I am eating well, I am exercising daily, I have lost weight, I am sleeping well, my stress is down, my oncologist is very pleased with my blood tests, and I am feeling good. I attribute much of my success to Christine.
