(May 13, 2020, 12:59 pm)I love Cactus. When I used to live in Oakland ten years ago, I regularly ate here and was never disappointed. We went the other day and nothing had changed - still amazing, especially the salsa. The crispy tacos are pretty awesome too. Definitely worth a visit, and for some reason, this location is better than there other one in Berkeley on Solano.

(February 29, 2020, 11:22 pm)I remember when Cactus opened years ago - it was a super-fresh take on Mexican fare. I often get the crispy tacos with grilled veggies—so satisfying. Quesadillas are nice and cheesy, and the corn tamales are warm and comforting. The food has stood the test of time. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal here.

I had questions all of which were answered with patience and the woman helping me even offered extra helpful information that I didn’t ask for (but totally appreciated)!
Great spot right next to the Rockridge BART!
(July 9, 2019, 8:24 pm)I go here a little too often. Very reasonably priced, lots of vegetarian options, their crispy tacos and enchiladas as particularly good. And the service is very friendly and cheerful.
