Oakland Drum School - Online And In-Person Drum Lessons

Been with ODS for a while now and started learning drums at age 27. I have been fortunate to learn from 2 teachers along the journey, Eyal and Gabe. Both of them are extremely talented, kind, considerate and genuine people that I have ever met. Learning with Gabe for the past few months has been very rewarding. He pays special attention to the individual, their interests and tailors the session according to it. Its because of him and the lessons that keeps me consistent on drumming. Very lucky to have met these people and learning from them. Would highly highly recommend!

I've been studying the drum set with Eyal of the Oakland Drum School for just over a year now. Out of the dozen or so instructors I've studied with over the past couple decades, I can attest that Eyal has been my favorite and most influential teacher thus far. Eyal has helped me progress in ways other teachers have not while consistently keeping the material he gives me each week fresh and fun to work on. As a more advanced player, the areas Eyal has helped me with the most have encompassed playing linear grooves, half time shuffles, learning new approaches to playing fills, and working on my "feel" and dynamics to become more of a versatile and musical drummer. Most recently Eyal has helped me with venturing into recording drums as a way to listen and observe what and how one plays (versus what one thinks they are playing). This has been a huge help in terms of getting honest feedback on how I'm playing while also picking up another practical and useful skill (I can now confidently get a decent quality recording of a jam session with other musicians I play with). If you're a player with experience under your belt, are interested in pushing yourself in new musical directions with the drum kit, and looking for a teacher that is kind, passionate about teaching, and a terrific teacher, then I highly recommend Eyal.

Mike has been a super encouraging and positive teacher to my two boys who were learning drums for the first time. I’m amazed that they practice each day and are progressing so fast.

Our son receives a weekly lesson from Michael and I can't speak highly enough of his skills as both a drummer and a teacher. Highly recommended.

Eyal has been an amazing teacher. He's incredibly patient with you, and helps you push your skills to the next level. He's incredibly knowledgeable, and excited to share his skills. I can't recommend him enough.
