Sun Flower Academy

My daughter loves Sun Flower so much. She started to study there since kindergarten and it's been four years. Abacus and Chinese are the favorites of her.
Sun Flower is practicing very strict safety protocols during the pandemic. My daughter feels very happy since I sent her back.

What a great find, after exploring numerous after-schools in the Tri-Valley area. Can't believe our child has been attending the academy for 4 years! The place is family owned, and the owners really care about their students. Highlights include their abacus / mental arithmetic instruction, Chinese instruction, and a great kung fu program. It is a lot of fun to watch the end of the school year party, where all the kids participate and show what they have learned throughout the year. During the Coronavirus pandemic, Sun Flower has done a fabulous job at remote learning -- their programs are keeping our child engaged, academically and socially, and continuing her learning even in the summer. Would highly recommend this school to parents of elementary school kids in the area!

This is a very good place for after-school and summer camp. Teachers are very friendly. Programs and courses are well designed. My son and daughter have been here for both after-school and summer camp many years. They like the teachers a lot.

Their math is particularly good. They offer math Olympiad and Abacus. My son and daughter are now interested in math and doing very well at public school.

They also have kungfu class. Kids will not get bored.

I have referred few friends there. They all like this place.

Both my kids like this after school/summer program. My daughter took 2 years abacus class and did very well. That skill helps her lot to solve math problems. She also enjoys playing with other kids there.

My son is very active. Typical boy. He is not a big fan of the abacus program but is such a big fan of their Kong Fu program. It is a great program to burn his energy and also learn some basic Kong Fu moves. During summer he loves the coding class. He shows me the little game he wrote. For a 7-year old boy I think this class is the best to convert pure "gaming" into a logical skill buildup. He also enjoys cooking and clay class. Each Wednesday he makes sure we send him to school on time so he can enjoy the movie. The teachers there offer maximum flexibility in terms of picking up time - this helps a ton to us who are both working and sometime stuck in bad traffic.

I would high recommend this after school program. It is also a great choice for summer.

Sunflower has many programs that kids can choose from. It is a like one stop shop for kids' after-school - Chinese, Abacus, Writing, Drawing, KungFu, etc... Their strength is really at Abacus. After learning Abacus, my daughter counts (+ - x /) faster than me when she was in 2nd grade. That is a big accomplishment. Lots of thanks to teacher Zheng, who is the Abacus master. My son also attend Sunflower. He loves Kungfu there. School was renovated at the beginning of the year with a new look. If you are looking for an after-school, Sunflower worth a try.
