We began working with Therapy at Play a year ago. My son receives multiple services: Speech, OT and feeding therapy. Simply put, TAP is excellent and my son is thriving! Courtney and Zara are the owners who have been accommodating with scheduling and have helped to deal with the headaches of insurance. I continue to go between both the San Ramon and Pleasanton location because my son is happy and making so much progress. Honestly, all of the other therapists we meet in passing have been very welcoming with smiles, greeting my son by name.

Ms. Emily is our speech therapist. My son greets her every time with hugs and smiles, he absolutely loves her! She is patient and understanding of his challenges and needs. My son was non communicative when we started and is now speaking in simple sentences!! In fact, it is because of her expertise that he was identified with a severe tongue thrust that has resulted in feeding therapy. For a parent of special needs .... it’s absolutely huge that she saw a need and advocated for my son to get the support he needed to succeed.

Ms. Mae is our OT therapist. My son adores her and is ready to go every time he sees her. She has tapped into his love of treasure hunts! Each week she creates obstacle courses that challenge him and incorporates strengthening, coordination and fine/gross motor activities. She is creative, loving and patient. When my son gets scared or overwhelmed, he goes in for a hug without any hesitation. Again, it’s huge that he is so comfortable and confident in tackling any task regardless of the difficulty.

Ms. Valeen is our feeding therapist. We’ve only worked with her for a few weeks, but I’m already seeing a difference! We are tackling simple tasks like chewing, drinking from a cup and breathing and moving ones tongue correctly. It’s a daunting task to retrain my son to chew and swallow correctly. Valeen is great at breaking the steps down for me to help at home. She’s been very supportive and full of great ideas for me to incorporate.

I’m thankful to have found TAP and to be working with professionals that care like you’re family!
