KJ's Custom Electric

One of my kitchen lights wasn’t turning on. I was thinking it might be the ballast. I called another business first and they sent out a technician who refused to check if it was the ballast and proceeded to tell me that I need to redo my wiring and change my light fixtures to the tune of $8K. Then charged me $89 for the “service call”. No thanks.
I called Kevin next and told him what I needed. He came to the house the next day, changed the ballast and had my lights working again! He didn’t talk down to me, explained things clearly when asked and did the job efficiently. I now have plans of having him work on my garage to add more lighting and later on, add lighting in my backyard too.

AMAZING!!!! G*#@tac electric was looking like they were going to charge me over 10k then a large electrician from Patterson with company called E-e-ctr-c c-m-ny gave me a bid for just over 9k and this wonderful and very funny (had me laughing so hard) electrician fixed everything for waaaaaaaay way way less because many of the services the other two companies said I needed……turns out I did not need.

My lights in my garage work again including the garage door opener. I have a new weather proof GFI and he will fix some things a previous electrician did such as not waterproofing outside conduit and not giving my hubby’s shop enough power which was whole reason we called previous (we will keep him un-named as he was a friend) electrician.

I can’t say enough about Kevin. He’s amazing!! He has been doing this since he’s 15, so what do you expect? Plus on top of that he’s amazingly honest and pointed out all the things that the other people said I needed that I didn’t need an explain to me in very electrical terms why I didn’t need that and how everything was actually to code, even though the other people said it was not.

I will use Kevin for all my electrical until he no longer wants to drive all this way. I have to pay him extra to drive this way, of course which is worth it because I live very very far away but I was desperate for a good electrician when I read his reviews I had to try him out and I was so glad I did. He’s amazing he still much less even with the extra cost of the drive time. He still doesn’t charge me $9’000 or $15,000 in fact nowhere near it.

I can also tell that he very much loves what he does, especially since his father got him into it, so there’s a very deep love for this work that probably reminds him of his dear father.

We just bought a new house and needed to upgrade our panel and change just about every outlet in our house. Kevin worked with our budget and set up a reasonable plan. We are more than happy with Kevin’s work and will use him for any of our electrical needs.

KJ's Custom was fantastic. New to home ownership and the El Sobrante area I landed on KJ's and he was out here in just a few days to take a look at an electric hookup for my washer/dryer that I was not confident was up to par (old home owner had a two to three prong adapter plugged in)

The service was fantastic, he took time to explain what he was doing/looking for and we then quickly went over my home inspection report to get a sense of what was, if anything, critical or those that could wait (as any homeowner will know it becomes a list of priorities when you tackle what the new house needs).

We quickly found that one panel should be updated and the other items were easy enough for me to manage.

Plugged in a laptop and a section of the house went out. Called a "Google Guarantee" business to come out and fix the issue. Unfortunately, all they did was tell me that it would be a $2700 charge for a new breaker box, never looked at the job. Thats a hard no. After looking at reviews online and experienced businesses, I came across KJ's Custom Electric. I am so glad I did, Kevin came out the next day. He promptly fixed the issue (the ground wire in the outlet was messed up), not only was he professional, he was very honest. Something that is really hard to find these days. I highly recommend this business, he gave me a quote for a ceiling fan and another outlet. The price was unbeatable and I can't thank Kevin enough.
