I lived here for two years, and my experience was great! I lived in a studio and they have the best layout, that maximizes the space. The apartment building is pretty quiet, maintenance gets to things quickly when you need something fixed, and I liked the pool area (pre-Covid). I didn't use the gym. The apartment is located next to the Iron Horse trail, which is excellent to bike to downtown or Danville. If you drive, it's right by the freeway on ramp. Now the downside. It's far from Bart and the shuttle is annoying. Street parking doesn't exist and ever six months you won't be able to find a space until management cracks down and tows the freeloaders. When I first moved in, management was ratchet but those people have seemed to have moved on, and those they have now are great. If you lose keys, fob, or parking pass, it's going to be expensive. If you're over 5’1”, you're going to either learn to kneel while showering or buy a shower extender. The balcony doesn't have a light and string lights or any visible decoration Is not allowed. Never, ever turn on that space heater in your apartment unless you have no problem with $300 electric bills, buy a space heater. The slightest amount of smoke will set off the fire alarm. Overall, not a bad two years!
My girlfriend and I have been apartment hunting around Walnut Creek among a few other towns the past 2 months. You'd be surprised that a lot of place don't even bother to call you or email you back. The Retreat and Liset have been very prompt on our transition moving in and were very clear with the process. She answered all my questions and always calls me back if I needed anything. Thank you very much, we look forward to moving in soon.
My transition from my previous residence to The Retreat was a 5-star experience - thanks wholly to Courtney. I asked a lot of questions and she provided me with lots of helpful and timely answers. Courtney is professional, kind, experienced and genuine. For that, I am most thankful.
Also, kudos to the Food Truck Thursday event that was just launched. It’s a nice weekday treat that takes you right into the weekend.
