Fantastic find! Wonderful smoked and shredded meats (chicken, beef, and pork) served in a variety of ways. Generous portions, with appropriate pricing for the area. Eat on the patio, surrounded by mountains and trees. Lovely drive up through areas both damaged by fire and untouched. If you’re in an extended stay in the area, it’s worth the drive for a quiet afternoon meal.
The store reopened June 23, 2018 and is under new management after two seasons closed. The customer service is unmatched(my kind of people)down right friendly and attentive to their customers as customer service should be. The new owner is focusing more on the restaurant side of things, with a grocery and gadgets section for locals and people on the way to Huntington Lake. So glad my travels bought me here and that I stopped in to check this place out. I stopped in to check out the smoked chicken sandwiches and home made desserts. Home made Everything!! Smoked pork, chicken, brisket sandwiches. They have dressings, deserts, and iced coffees... oh wow! They know how to do customer service. The best part is... you have to know it exist to find it. It’s a secret of the Sierras!
GREAT people, and unmatched customer service! Amazing food, handcrafted and made from the heart. Fresh air meets fresh food at this timeless treasure. It is quaint, clean and sure to delight your tastebuds! Bring the family, no one will want to be left out, and make a tradition of it as often as you can...it’s that special!
Down to Earth Deli-Bakery
Went there earlier this week. Ate at the first place I saw with a buddy and it was the best decision we made. We got pork sandwiches a brownie and cookie(both homemade). They were all phenomenal. And the mint julep* was very refreshing after a long day outside
Just reopened!
A wonderful little general store off the beaten path, in the scenic and quiet little town of Big Creek.
Delicious food, attentive service and a friendly atmosphere round out what I most enjoyed about this business.
Centrally located with the post office, community church, pool and school (with a lovely playground) just a hop-skippity jump away.
