Shaver Lake Power Center

We had an easy experience with Shaver Lake Power Center and a fun day on the water.

Rented the 115 hp pontoon because we wanted something with enough power to tow the kids. Boat is still pretty slow but it got the job done. Fit 12 people which was perfect for our group.

Boat was a little banged up, but honestly I prefer that to something brand new. I made a point to take video and images of the existing damage to exterior and interior just in case… but we had no problems with check in or return and the deposit was returned in full. We did try and pick up after ourselves and treat the boat like our own.

We arrived right at opening and were on the water within 30 minutes or so. It was a Sunday so maybe they were less busy.

Great day on the water, would use again based on this experience.

The reservation page warned us about check in and boat launch taking some time, but we were on the water fairly quick. The boat was pretty beat up, but they noted it on the inspection beforehand and my group didn't really care. I appreciate that the guy launching the boat was willing to wait for the other half of my party rather than making us launch and try to pick them up after. They also warned me the boat was a bit "finicky" especially going in reverse or bringing it up to speed quickly, and I was glad for the warning. We had a great day on the lake, made easier by the launch and pick up service since we were essentially a group of tourists with little boating experience. I had a billing question a few days later which they clarified promptly. 5/5 customer service, 3/5 on condition of the boat to be honest, so I feel 4/5 overall is fair.

This was our first time (July 27, 2021)renting a boat and was sort of weary of this place because of negative reviews. I have to say we were treated well by Kristen, Jonah, Breanna and one other gentleman but I’m so bad with names, I can’t remember his name, anyway, from the very beginning with my several phone calls, Breanna was great and patient in explaining how the rental process worked, what we’d be paying for, like extra tubes and gas. When we got there, on our reservation day, we didn’t wait but maybe five minutes. Kristen advised us to go to the boat and take pictures and to also video everything that didn’t look right, so we did. She also mentioned that if we didn’t leave a mess, that we wouldn’t be charged a “cleaning up” deposit, naturally we cleaned up our mess. She took the time, to help us find the right sizes of life vests we all needed, being that this was our first time doing this, we weren’t sure of the correct fit. Noah helped us load up the boat with our belongings, when we reached the loading dock he drove us (in the boat)into the water(very fun!)
When we were done for the day we called the office and they sent someone to get us. We told the guy, that we didn’t know how to dock the boat onto the trailer, he said don’t worry about it. He got into the boat and docked it for us, (such a relief!)
And that ended our wonderful, first boat rental experience. When we do this boat rental thing again, we will definitely be going back to Shaverlake Power Center. They had great customer service and we were very happy with how we were treated. I really hope they read this, so that they know, how good of a job they are doing and how much we appreciated all their help. It was a GREAT experience! Thank you to the staff at Shaverlake Power Center.

Our family of four rented two snowmobiles for half a day, and drove around Huntington Lake, very scenic. Hunter the service rep. was great help.
My kids had the time of their life, my only regret is I didn't rent for the whole day. Thank you SLPC for everything, see you in the summer.
