Five stars all the way!!
Service, food, cleanliness, the overall experience was just so top notch.
Do you like chewy noodles? Freshly made dumplings with chewy skin and flavorful fillings? Are you not-a-fan of artificial flavors?
I truly appreciated their simple yet hearty foods made from scratch; the combination of flavors were so good. I also appreciate their limited menu items, clearly indicating what their specialties and focus are. Plus they’re really good at it!
I’m so glad to know that I don’t have to go far to enjoy authentic quality Lao Xi regional specialties! I’d go back again and again and bring special guests to introduce their foods. Truly amazing!! ☄️
Dining at Lao Xi Noodle House, I was immediately struck by the inviting scent of authentic spices, hinting at the culinary delights to come. The staff’s warm hospitality set the tone for a remarkable dining experience. Each dish, especially their signature noodles, was a celebration of tradition and taste. The hand-pulled noodles had the perfect chew, swimming in a deeply flavorful broth that was clearly crafted with care and expertise. Every bite was a testament to the authentic Chinese flavors Lao Xi prides itself on. For anyone in search of genuine, heartwarming Chinese cuisine, Lao Xi Noodle House is an absolute treasure.
Came here for lunch at around 1pm and there was no wait for a seat so that was great. We ordered the House Special Fried Noodle w/ Fried Boiled Pork Knife Cut Style (15.50), Wife Special Noodle (15.50), Special Beef Noodle Soup spicy (16.99), and Green Onion Pancake (7.99). As our first time here, we ordered quite a lot for only 3 people after seeing how delicious they looked in the menu.
The food was served one after another in about 20 minutes. The beef noodles was served last. All the dishes were good but my favorite was the knife cut noodles and the wife noodles. The knife cut noodles had a unique flavor but did get a bit greasy as it sat there longer while we ate the other dishes. The wife noodles tasted more like tomatoes but it was pretty good. All the noodles had good texture and were flavorful but not salty. The beef noodles tasted just average for being the most expensive dish. Note that it said it is spicy but it wasn't spicy at all. As for the green onion pancake, it was crispy and authentic tasting.
The portions for all of them were all reasonable for the price. They were quite generous with the amount of meat for the dishes. I did not really like the texture of the beef in the noodle soup though. Also lots of noodles! We had leftovers to take home at the end even though we tried to eat as much as we could.
This noodle place overall feels authentic and homey. The service is great and I believe it is family run. I can see how they have been opened for so long. I would definitely come back again for lunch or takeout! Support small businesses!
Food was good. Service was too, and quick!
Really liked the cold noodles with that sesame sauce, but I had to be a gentleman and let the lady at our table have the last bite. 😭
Their "cat ears" were really interesting --no, they're really just tiny 'gnocchi', but they someone could've come up with a better name.
This place used to be a dump with another restaurant brand running it. I was surprised to find a beautiful and well lit restaurant when we walked in. It's a totally different vibes here now.
The service was excellent as I was greeted by the owner with a big smile. They were very efficient in serving us and the food came out in no time.
As true to its accolades that greeted us on the wall, the food were amazing. I am glad that went to try out this restaurant.
We ordered our favorites knife cut noodle and the cold noodle dishes. These two noodles were as good a Northwest noodle as you can get from the region that's known for great noodles in China. The sauce that's blended with the noodle was so tasty. The texture of the noodle perfectly complimented my taste buds.
Our other favorites were the shrimp and pork dumpling and onion pancake. The dumplings were totally delicious and felt more of home made food. The pancakes were very flaky and flavorful.
The prices are not outrageous as most the dishes are under $16.
The restaurant shares the parking spaces with Dumpling House in the back.
If you love noodles, this place definitely worth your visit.
