My name is Mahu because I had a ceremony with my adoptive dad who is Cherokee and a known healer in the community. I was named Mahu in a right of passage into manhood as a sign of commitment and loyalty to my path as a healer. Blue and gold were the colors that were also given at that time and blue is significant for living in integrity and truth… speaking the truth and being authentic in everything I do.
