Came here to visit finally after about 3 years! I enjoyed the lecture will and I will be back to visit the house and gardens.
This is a small memorial hall consisting of two buildings + 1 cemetery. However, it is very worthwhile to come. The main reason is that the wonderful explanation of the guide makes you feel that you are in the right place. Opening starts at 12pm and ends at 4pm. Only open Friday-Sunday every week. Relatively niche.
The first building I visited was the Workman house, led by the guide Judy. She was careful, full of enthusiasm, always smiling, and told me everything she knew, and let me have a good understanding of this building built in 1841. The exploration of historic buildings was responded to. She is really great, very professional and you can feel her genuine love for the building. Let me admire very much, this is definitely an excellent explainer. Every story in the house, she will tell the visitors one by one, very seriously.
The next hour, I visited La Casa Nuevo, a building next to it. It is definitely an old building full of Spanish style. The specific year of construction should be around 1860. The house, its elegance and exquisite layout, let us see the architectural beauty of two centuries ago. Under Judy's delicate explanation, we all fully understood the story that happened at that time, and it was a very good visit. It's worth a visit.
Homestead is fantastic historical site in the San Gabriel Valley and best of all free! We took the one hour tour of Casa Nuevo with our guide Steven. Toured all rooms of the house including a music room, living room and kitchen. Enjoyed seeing the 1920 lifestyle of the well to do of their time! Worth a visit folks!
Finally open to the public, we had lucky cause was the first guided visit since November 2019, it's a beautiful place with story
Museum not open, but always enjoy walking the grounds. Wedding pictures were being taken, so couldn't get all the pics I wanted to take.
