I needed some minor repair done on my Moonstone custom acoustic guitar and didn't want to take it just anyone. I poked around the internet to find the best acoustic luthier in the LA area. Liked Fren's website and took my baby to him. Of course he had a ton of work and when he called, I drove to pick it up. Not only was the work impeccable, but we got to play and sing a bit before I had to go.
I highly recommend Fren if you need it done right and with love.
Fren Asken is in love with guitars. His shop is a small shack behind his house, dusty and crowded with instruments and equipment. Friendly and down to earth, he’s an old world craftsman born in the wrong century, and a welcome asset for guitar lovers in Los Angeles.
Everyone here is really helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly.
