American Tire Centers

I found an nail in my left front tire when I arrived at my office. To save time, I decided to find some tire shops near my office to fix it during noon time. After making a few phone calls, American Tire Centers took me in. Based on my experience there, I want to comment on the following items listed in some Yelp comments on this shop as below:

1. Efficiency: Yes, it's fast, but it's mainly because they did not do a through check-up on my four tires like some tire shops do before patching my left front tire. A gentleman called Vike simply asked me, "what do you need?" I said "I think my left front tire got a nail on it." He replied, "you think, or you know?" Well, that's why I came to you to find out, right?

2. Hours: It says it opens from 8:30 am to 5 pm. But when I called them, a gentleman told me they will have a lunch break from 12 pm to 2 pm. If I want to come today, he suggests that I go there at 3 pm. Hmm, that's a long lunch break, isn't it?

3. Service: Then another gentleman used a kit to patch it from the outside. It took him like 3-5 minutes to get the job done. He also checked the tire pressure of my four tires and pumped them for me. It's very different from my past experiences in two other shops--they both asked me to turn the wheel so that they could see four tires and then moved my car up to checked all tires.

4. Price: Some people said they weren't charged with anything for a simple patching service. That's not the case to me. They charged me with $20, no receipt. But I was glad to pay them. So don't expect they will waive the fees every time.

5. Manners: Some people said the staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable. Well, they were not rude nor nice to me. Didn't give me an attitude nor a smile. I didn't feel welcome. Staff looked tired and a bit distanced. But at least they got the job done.

Overall, I minus one star for them not to check my tires thoroughly (even the front left one) before patching my tire. I accepted it given that I have past experiences in this kind of situation and are pretty sure that only my left front tire got punctuated by a nail. If you are looking for something cheap and quick for a slight to mild damage to your tires, this might be the place to go to. However, if you think your vehicle needs more attentions, I suggest that you try some places else.

I didn't get the chance to talk to the famous "John" during my visit. Things might be a little better if I was received by him? I'm not sure.

Been coming to this shop since 2003 :) John and his crew is the best, i moved far away and drive 45mnts each way to this tire place. Why? because they provide excellent customer service, good prices,not scratching wheels. I never have to worry about my tires and alighment Thank you Alex .

5+ stars from me. Back in April '22 I went there to get 4 new tires for my '12 Cayenne S, and I got a good deal on Goodyear tires. They also replaced one of the tire pressure sensors' batteries for a small fee. Yesterday I went back to have my tires rotated and asked them to check for flat spots as my car had been parked for two months while I was abroad and I noticed light steering wheel vibrations around 66mph. When I picked the car up they had checked for flat spots and balanced/rotated all tires. And on top they charged me nothing. 😋 I drove the car afterwards on the freeway and NO vibrations, all is smooth! Also they didn't make a fuss when I had to cancel my appointment last minute and asked to come in the next day. Love this place, can definitely recommend it!

Pleasantly surprised!!! They were easy to work with, got our car in quickly for a brand new tire, took 15 minutes after I arrived to replace it, and cost was significantly cheaper than if I had gone to Audi. I highly recommend seeing them if you need new tires.

Holy moley this place rocks. They answered the phone instantly, they had the rare Tesla tires in stock for a good price ($289 and $30 for labor) and got me back on the road in under 30min.

Great tire changing experience. Would recommend to all Tesla owners. They even used the correct Tesla lifting puck.
