Silverado Hospice Los Angeles

This review is a bit overdue, but after receiving a thoughtful condolence card I felt compelled to share how amazing Silverado was to my father and to me. Their staff is extremely professional and knowledgeable, but, more importantly, compassionate, empathetic and conscientious. I was unfamiliar with hospice and luckily was referred to Silverado by a friend in the long term care industry. They not only held my hand through the process, but connected me with services I had no idea existed. My only regret is that I didn’t know about them sooner. For the first time in six years, I didn’t feel so alone and felt I had a team of people looking out for my father’s best interest. From music therapy to volunteers, everyone I met from Silverado was amazing. They treated my father with respect and preserved his dignity, while keeping me updated with everything from additional services to notes after a visit. After my father passed, they continued to reach out and check on me. It warms my heart knowing people like this exist and I couldn’t be more grateful.

I REALLY hope that the Great Staff who recently assisted us will get this review.

She was only home 6-hrs from the hospital, when she passed away, but comfy and pain free, thanks to your extremely speedy magic.
Bless you all for being there, in the middle of the night too, reassuring us the entire time, our mom was in the best hands.

My mother just passed and I was extremely fortunate to have her hospice performed by Silverado. The equipment delivery and nursing staff were first rate. Everyone was very supportive. I had a nurse respond on the phone to every concern I had and they never hesitated to send one out in person. A doctor consulted with me a few times too. My only tip is you might want have someone to relieve you at night. (I was actually doing round the clock care.)

Mom was made very comfortable because of their expert medication and care regimen instructions that I was able to carry out personally with love. Mom even seemed to smile when my brother and I reconciled our differences.

She passed peacefully, at home and I was by her side after she fought Alzheimer’s with my help for several years. I strongly recommend all the services Silverado offers. And as for the haters, there’s always someone that want to extract revenge on great organizations because it may temporarily make them feel better. Please don’t believe any negative comments and go with the best for those you love.

One side note, I don’t know the California laws on lethal injection, but having the person I love most in the world slowly starve to death (albeit with anti-seizure Meds and morphine,) seems to be a cruel fate for all involved.(As would keeping her a living vegetable for weeks, months, or years using artificial means.)

It’s so rare
Especially during this time in LA.
My husband and I are in Chicago and trying to manage everything from across country

We had a horrible experience with another small hospice company -
They were not professional and called us at mid nite one night and told us they were closing permananently immediately - abandoned my mother in law -

Gave us no resources and they just didn’t care

Silverado is exceptional !
