Sugar Taco

Counter service vegan restaurant. Very friendly staff at the main counter for ordering. Fairly simple menu with option of protein (seitan, tofu, jackfruit, potato).

We tried 3 items to share: quesadilla, loaded nachos (full size), and 3 tacos.
Very fresh ingredients and fun to eat.

Lovely patio area with plenty of seating.
Two bathrooms around back (need a code to unlock the door).

Street metered parking available, or nearby residential area parking (check signs carefully).

I love Sugar Taco so much! Healthy, delicious, authentic vegan Mexican in a beautiful setting right on Melrose! What more could you ask for?!

Hands down the BEST vegan Mexican food I have ever tried. The house made cheeses and proteins were absolutely divine. For $8 you can get a large drink and keep the jar too. Will definitely be back!

As a vegetarian, it's really hard to have too many vegetarian options. So a vegan taco place is just excellent for any vegetarian. We tried their spicy ghost taco, it was spicy and delicious. Also got their regular 3 tacos with assorted toppings - all tasted really good. I really liked their potato topping taco. We also got half order of nachos - the serving portion is huge, so half portion should easily be sufficient for 2.
