The two Masters (husband and wife team) who own the school and teach, are dedicated and committed about sharing their knowledge and passion for this art with each and everyone of their students from the Junior Dragons class (kid's class) to the most advanced students, black belts and Masters that trains there. Higher ranked belt take new students "under their wings" to show them and help them improve in whatever area they need. There are no egos or attitudes and it is a family away from home for many students. You will have a fun time and a great workout while studying a very effective art. New to San Soo Kung Fu or veteran practitioner? Either way this is a fantastic place to learn, practice, and study this deadly yet beautiful fighting art.

This ancient system, developed many centuries ago in China for warfare and combat, is great for self-protection and guarding against most urban threats. While astonishingly powerful and fiendishly effective, the art works not only for the big and strong, but for anyone and everyone, men, women, young and old.

Its secret is its basis in an understanding of physics, anatomy, physiology, and psychology as well as the terrible realities and consequences of fighting. San Soo cuts through the nonsense, ignores the action movie showboating and silliness and scientifically breaks down what works in a fight, when it works, how it works, and why it works.

Kung Fu San Soo is as complex and technical as any system navigating the frightening chaos of a war, street fight, brawl, or other violent physical altercation. However its sophistication, with proper instruction it is revealed to be as amazingly simple and economic as it is coherent and learnable.

I've been studying with the Montalvos for over a decade now and couldn't recommend them or the Double Dragons' School of Kung Fu San Soo more highly. They not only know the art like the back of their hand, but also know how to teach it in a way that best suits each individual.

I've been lucky to be able to study with several Kung Fu San Soo Masters and advanced black belts, and while each instructor is special to me, Double Dragons School of Kung Fu San Soo and Masters Lue and Dora stand out for a number of reasons.

Master Lue is not only a gifted martial artist, he is a gifted teacher. His thoughtful and patient instruction was tremendously helpful to me. And he cultivates this trait in others, so that everyone I worked with in his studio helped me learn (and I strove to do the same).

There are a few obvious and a lot of subtle differences about being a woman and a martial artist. Master Dora clearly understands this. She makes their studio a welcoming place for everyone from the biggest man to a small woman like me.

And perhaps most importantly, they are a team. I was able to learn from not one, but two Masters, who coordinate their instruction to make it that much more effective.
