  I’ve been waiting 20+ weeks to write this testimonial about Amy because I knew at my first appointment that I made the right decision choosing her as my midwife and things would only get better from there. Not only is Amy clearly well-informed and experienced, she has qualities that can’t be taught. The confidence she exuded about my ability to have a healthy birth without medical intervention was infectious. The intuition she had about my needs both prior to and during birth was amazing and spot on. Amy cared for me in a way that was somehow both very hands on and empowering. She made sure me and my husband were informed about every single decision being made and would take her time answering any and every question we had. By the time we got to the birth, I felt so safe and held in her presence that I felt physically lighter in her arms in the birthing suite. Unfortunately, as a black woman, I often have to (and did during my last pregnancy and birth) ask myself in healthcare settings if I’m getting poor care because of my race. With Amy, the thought couldn’t be further from my mind. At Art of Birthing Center, the care is mind, body (head to toe), and soul and you’re treated as a person and not just a number. Our family will forever be grateful to Amy for the excellent pre and post-natal care and beautiful birth she facilitated for our baby girl. In a country with so much poor maternal healthcare, Amy truly is a gem. Anyone with the opportunity to be in her care should jump on it; they will be blessed to have her.

  Wonderful Facility! Grateful I gave birth here with Amy and staff. Excellent treatment, wonderful experience!

  I really cannot add too much more about Amy and everyone at Art of Birthing that the positive of what has already been said below (that I totally agree with every word of), so I will just share a short story of my experience with Amy that touched me deeply.
  
  Just a couple of days before our due date with #2, my father passed away unexpectedly. I got the phone call late at night when my wife was already asleep. I texted Amy very late and she got on the phone with me to discuss how to break this terrible news to my wife.
  
  After listening to me sob and comforting me very sweetly, she shared some amazing advice that helped to make the next few days as pleasant and peaceful as possible.
  
  I strongly believe that anyone is in the best possible hands with Amy and everyone there at Art of Birthing! SHE IS THE BEST!

  The birth center is beautiful, full of educational classes, and a supportive community. Amy is an incredible midwife and a total pro. I had two births with Amy and loved every minute of the care I received. She spends so much time with you that there's a level of trust and a sweet relationship that develops well in advance of the birth itself. This is so helpful when you're in the midst of labor because her presence alone is a calming force and helps you to feel that everything will be okay. Cannot recommend her highly enough!

  My husband and I knew from the moment we arrived that we wanted to birth our baby with the amazing women at art of birthing.
  
  We stumbled through all kinds of conventional care throughout the first trimester-- i am glad we experienced clinics and hospitals, only because it made me so truly satisfied with the care and services we received from Art of Nursing from 2nd trimester on.
  
  I am not always an easy person, and my labor certainly wasn't either. These women met every question, fear, concern, excitement and joy head on with absolute love and openmindedness.
  
  I am SO grateful we found this birth center. I am so grateful that with my own strength, and that on loan from my husband and the midwives of Art of Nursing, I was able to meet my desire to naturally birth my son last October.
  
  I hope you find this place as awesome as my family did!
