It is with great thanks to Skirball Hospice that I leave this review. My mom was doing okay – until she wasn’t. On her doctor’s referral I contacted Skirball. Everyone I worked with at Skirball was kind and loving and caring and quick to respond: nurses, doctors, social workers, rabbis (no matter that we are not Jewish). They worked wonderfully with my mom. And, they were super with me – every question or worry I had they answered. Nurses came when I was nervous and I could not have made it through without the ability to call the night nurses. I most highly recommend this wonderful group to take care of your loved one, you and your family.
As a RN Care Management Consultant, I was privileged to work with Skirball Hospice on several occasions. The Hospice team at Skirball is incredibly compassionate and passionate about caring for their clients. When it came time for needing a hospice company for a family member, I had no doubt what hospice company I wanted to care for them.
Skirball Hospice is a fantastic organization. From the Medical Director and nursing director to the home health aide, everyone provides care with compassion, caring and love. Skirball Hospice was able to make my loved one comfortable, addressing all her needs. Thank you Skirball Hospice.
My Dad is new to the program and so far Skirball Hospice has been very attentive to my Dads needs. They have a great team of people that have worked well with my Dad and I. Most importantly, my Dad sleeps well now because he has a good quality bed vs other beds used in other programs. Thanks Skirball for making this life changing process more comforting.
Skirball Hospice was always great to my mom. During the time my mother was on hospice, they arranged volunteer visits, monitored her health and were quick to adjust medications. The staff and nurses communicated very well and efficiently with me via phone and text messages. Sometimes I'd cross paths with them while visiting my mother. When my mother fell, they realized it would be hard for me to take her to the hospital for x-rays so they arranged a doctor with mobile equipment to come check her out. When there were some billing mistakes by pharmacies, skirball sorted it out quickly.
In my mother's final days, hospice did everything they could to make her comfortable. A rabbi came to say some blessing and comfort her before she passed. Another volunteer also sat with her for a while. On the day of her passing, hospice kept me informed as her health declined in order to give me the best chance to be with my mother when she passed. Hospice staff stayed by her side until I could arrive and stayed until the hospice rabbi could arrive. After her passing, the rabbi stayed & chatted with me until the mortuary transportation arrived.
I'd highly recommend making an appointment to visit Skirball Hospice and consider them if you are having to choose a hospice provider.
