  Jo Ann Page has been making beautiful things in leather for many, many years. But these things have been more than simply beautiful, functional pieces, they're so well made that they are also incredibly durable - - I've had a wallet she made almost forty years ago that finally - *finally* - wore out. It had a very hard use, but remained beautiful, supple, and soft until the very end.
  
  When one buys high-end purses or handbags from famous name makers these days, they're almost always made overseas in a factory, and the quality of the material and the overall workmanship might be a bit suspect, especially in the hidden details. The purse or bag from Jo Ann has lining that goes to all interior parts, the sewing is perfect throughout, and the material has been hand-selected and matched to look appropriately.
  
  Jo Ann will be retiring this year, which is a tragedy. She is an uncompromising artist that has produced many, many pieces of functional art - - charming, durable, beautiful, and all made by hand.

  I don't know any other place where they'll make a purse right there in the store based on what I want. It just isn't a thing anywhere else.
