“Not the biggest gym in the LA area but the quality of the climbs makes up for that. Really challenging boulders that make you use your brain just as much as your muscles.”

“Donnielle has treated multiple injuries for me over the years from broken bones to gym injuries and has always offered sound advice for continuing rehabilitation for these injuries as well. I’ve also been in to see her for regular cupping sessions which I really enjoy. I have been a patient of hers for well over six years now and plan to continue to stay a patient well into the future. Highly recommend.”

“My name is Beau Z and I go to this studio. I am 9 years old and love it so much. It taught me how to kick and punch better than I would have ever thought I could before I started. I have improved so much with this program. And I made great friends at the studio too.”

“Love love love Sheppard Method Pilates! My friend, who has been practicing Pilates for a couple of years, was referred to Sheppard Method's teacher training program by a Pilates instructor at an unaffiliated studio. I was in the midst of a career change and my friend asked me if I'd like to do the program as well. At this time I had only been doing Pilates for two months, and while I said yes, part of me was terrified due to my limited experience. Let me tell you, I am beyond glad that I decided to move forward! Prior to the start of the course, I was straight-up clueless about my own body! Risa and Janine, the gurus running the teaching program, welcomed me with open arms and set me up for success on day 1! I started with a disconnected mind and center, limbs that flailed left, right, up, and down, and hips that did lie (oof, one hip forward while the other was down and back, that's a nope--they should be square and aligned)! As of this review, I am nearly two months in, and with each passing day, I have deepened my mind-body connection to movement through concentration, control, and precision, etc. Risa and Janine have been vital to my success, but it truly doesn't stop there. As a newbie, I had to put in the work, and this involved weekly privates and group classes. Through these classes I have and the pleasure to work with many of the instructors at Sheppard. The instructors are thoroughly trained via Risa's Method and then some, it's through their instruction that my movement patterns, strength, flexibility, and listening abilities have improved. I am forever and always a work in progress, but I am so gracious to Sheppard Method's team and their efforts to connect me to myself! I have to give a shout-out to Cat, Sheppard's rockstar office administrator. From my first call to the studio, her kind, cool and positive vibes eased my nerves while jazzing me up for the program.”

“I really love this place! Erik and Emily are fantastic instructors. I've been training here for boxing since November last year and I've definitely seen an improvement. They are both passionate about what they do, care about their student's needs, and have a variety of martial arts to teach you.”

“I’ve been a member for almost 6 years, it’s my home away from home I go here at least four times a week. Great set up with easily accessible machines, extremely clean, For the price you get all that plus flowater dispensers, Sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and classes. A lot cheaper than equinox, I would say this is the best deal in Los Angeles. My wife has since joined, as well as my son. The staff and management is extremely professional and friendly, they know you by name, and always available for their members. I look forward to being a member for many more years!”

“This is a great school. The staff is friendly, engaging and extremely accommodating with regards any individual's skills and/or disabilities. Street parking is usually available within half a block and the school will validate parking for the underground garage (the entrance is on La Grange Ave). I researched other martial arts programs before signing up. Frankly, the cost of this program is a real bargain, especially when you consider that classes are offered daily (which is great if your schedule varies from week to week). My son has been studying here for a year and a half and after all this time he is STILL excited to go to class.”
