(July 16, 2019, 10:46 pm)We chartered a yacht to Catalina through Los Angeles Yacht Charter for a burial at sea for my mother. Captain Joe and First Mate Mike were incredibly kind and supportive, not to mention quick to offer anything we needed, and told us great stories about past trips whenever we wanted to hear them. They answered all our questions, gave us several options, and when the time came they gave us all the time we needed to carry out our final goodbyes. After they showed us around a sea lion beach and gave us time on Catalina. We got back later than planned and they never complained. The value for the money was also extremely good, with a gorgeous 70-foot yacht for a charter fee that probably wasn’t much above the cost of the fuel to get to Catalina and back. Whether you are looking for a burial at sea or something more fun, I can’t recommend this group highly enough.
(March 14, 2019, 6:30 pm)We used this company last month to scatter a family member's ashes at sea. She grew up in the South Bay (Redondo Beach) so it was fitting to take a boat out and scatter in the view of where she most loved. The person I talked to on the phone to book it was very professional, and was able to quote rates immediately, and with different options. He offered multiple locations, but King Harbor was best for us. The crew was very professional, and the boat was clean and in good shape. The ashes-lowering ceremony is beautiful with the ashes and flower petals in a basket lowered into the ocean. A plus was also seeing a few whales, dolphins, and seals.
