All four of our children graduated from Blair and went on to excellent colleges. Great opportunities abound. IB Program, Dual Language Spanish Program, International Academy, Health Careers Academy along with wonderful music, drama and arts available. Sports program is getting stronger with some real standouts in basketball and track. Wonderfully diverse study body. A big international family! We bleed green and gold. Check it out!
I would give 10 stars if it is an option. Blair is the smallest high school in PUSD, yet it offers the most diversification in terms of students enrollment, curriculums, activities...the teachers always push students to excel, there is no bully. My kid enjoyed the IB program very much. Did I mention Blair offers full international baccalaureate program? It is tough to be a full IB student, on the other hand it is super rewarding if one achieves it.
My daughters both attend the Middle School and my oldest is looking forward to starting High School next year. Blair is a small 6-12 school with an incredibly supportive and tolerant environment for all kids. Tour the school and you will find that students are engaged in their own education probably due to the International Baccalaureate program and method of instruction. The collaboration between staff, students and parents is truly wonderful and I find that the leadership at this school is always looking for ways to improve and it shows!
Blair wasn't our first choice when looking at middle schools for our daughter, but when she was ready to move on to high school, it had become our only choice. While she has been academically challenged, enjoyed taking advantage of high school math classes while in middle school and is looking forward to starting the IB Diploma Programme her junior year, it is the open and accepting atmosphere and community at this school that separates it from the rest.
My daughters both attend Blair Middle School and they couldn't be happier. They are both challenged in their classes to think more critically and more broadly about the world, and both of them have thrived in a school where everyone watches out for each other. The teachers are all committed and creative, and the IB curriculum encourages learning beyond the test.
