“My experience with the school has exceeded expectations. The teachers are all committed to the task of educating the kids. The school provides the children with options to follow their different paths. My son is heavily involved in the arts program and loves it. The person with the negative review above is posting incorrect information. He states “most of the graduates from this school are below average, coming in at a whopping GPA of 1.5!” This is NOT true, at all. Period. The academics are excellent.”

“My 3 year old loves it here in Mrs Stephanie's class. He is always excited to go to class rather than stay home. They really seem to keep the kids' minds stimulated. When I pick him up he typically has artwork he wants to show me and he will tell me about what they learned about today with topics ranging from alphabet letters to dinosaurs. I also think the classes have been good in teaching him about cooperating and sharing.”

I am many things and perfect is not one of them I take pride in being as fair as possible and I strive to enhance our school every chance I get. I, like many schools have a limited budget and am applying it to very necessary things. Your children and the children of others have always been my first concern. Many of the things you spoke of have been addressed, taken care of or will take some time to raise money for. I rest in the fact that this school has wonderful teachers and after 30 years only 3 complaints. I hope you find what you are looking for. A Quote from the Bible helped me through these attacks! “Our daughter has gone to Norma Coombs from Kinder through 3rd grade so far. We stayed with Norma Coombs despite moving out of Pasadena, and we will continue to send her to Norma Coombs through 5th grade. Our daughter in involved in after-school choir and coding programs, and the normal-school-day curriculum this year includes violin, swimming, and ceramics along with language arts, math, and science curriculum that is actually ahead of some other schools that we've toured. This is a wonderful school with incredibly talented and invested staff and teachers, and a very diverse student body. I frequently recommend it to other parents in the area whose children go to other schools, especially when they complain about things their schools are doing wrong that Norma Coombs does right! Like other schools in PUSD, Norma Coombs is being affected by mismanagement and shake-ups at the district-level, but the staff and teachers have been doing a commendable job of bearing the brunt of these challenges and maintaining a high quality of education and environment for the children.”

I've been practicing everything he taught me and already could notice some changes with my voice. “I was what mostly considered "way passed the age of learning" ;-) when I decided to take some drumming lesson in 2001. So, it was great to have Tommy to give my first lessons. He made feel at easy and I was able to pick up fast and have fun a lot sooner than I thought. He has a very unassuming teaching style. Unfortunately, Tommy has moved away and even though I have had others drum instructors, Tommy’s still my favorite. I highly recommend Tommy to anyone of any age as an instrument instructor due to his knowledge, patience and teaching techniques.”
