“Awesome hike! Drive pass the camping area and you’ll get to a hiking parking lot. The trail is 3 miles round trip, plan accordingly. Can be muddy at some places so probably not the best trail to walk out your favorite pair of shoes. The trail goes through a wonderful canyon full of trees and flowers.”

“Pretty neat park in the middle of no where practically. Was there on the weekend so a lot of parties but the atmosphere was great. Plenty of space, facilities are well kept, and the water park was fun for the kids (I was there during the summer.) I would say there was ample parking for a full place and the trees were amazing for shade on a hot day.”

“Adventure pass required. Service road is bumpy but made it in a passenger car. Super nasty pit toilets, no water, fire rings/grills, tables. Beautiful and quiet. Lots of fantastic hiking. Pets ok. No service.”

“Been here twice. Its free, you always have someone camping here. Good for stargazing. Fire pits and benches available. On weekends you might run into some hillbillies playing Dubstep all night.”

“Amazing jumble of rock formations. Nice little loop hike. I will warn visitors that have footing issues and or ankle/knee/hip issues that there are step and difficult steps on occasion and having a willing partner to aid in a couple of places is a good idea. Other than that, yes - a relatively easy hike, though not flat. So worth it! Look at the same formations from different angles and see the awesome changes. Go when it's cool out!”

“Road was closed from this point forward due to snow. We parked off and played around in the snow though. Parking was easy and they were in the process of ploughing the rest of the road.”

“Literally one of the most gorgeous and enjoyable hikes I've been on here in .CA. obviously all Cali hikes are beautiful, but the views up there are just unbelievable at Mount Waterman. I was immediately regretting not bringing my phone to take pictures, but at the same time it felt so good to be immersed in nature like that. At the top of the summit, there are really cool Boulders as well. It's really fun to check things out of there and just appreciate the beauty of our home. Highly recommend!”

“Excellent views and mature pines make this a great escape from LA. The trail is not clearly marked in some areas so download a trail map before you go.”

“Super fun place to camp. Reasonably out of the way and quiet. Fire rings with attached grilles (no standalone grilles) and picnic tables plus vault toilets. No water, so come prepared.”

“April 2017 - This hike-in trail camp on the PCT is amazing - I highly recommend it. The campsite is surrounded by mature trees and has a creek right along the south side. There are three large camping areas with a fire ring and tables. There is enough room for many tents. The bathroom is far enough away that it doesn't disturb but also not too far to make it a hike to use it. Unfortunately the bathroom was quite dirty - the forest service should come around to clean it more often. There is no potable water available so bring a filter or boil the water from the creek.”

“Popular place to take the kids sledding when there's snow. A word of warning - the roads are often very icy in the winter, particularly in shadowed areas, so drive carefully, during good weather only, and have your adventure pass for parking.”

“Got down to 23 degrees on our recent trip in Feb. Bring layers! Also, water is shut off in Winter so be sure to pack extra.”
