42 years ago a surgeon in Marina Del Rey, removed my thyroid gland, in 2 separate operations. In the process, he removed all of my parathyroid glands. I suffered severe episodes of hypocalcemia and tetany. Dr Richard Guttler saved my life. He treated me and monitored my blood levels and taught me how to keep them under control and also protect my kidney function
for as long as possible. Because of the great knowledgeable and caring treatment I received from Dr Guttler I am now 84. My family and I are forever grateful. He is worth 10 stars in our book

Dr. Guttler diagnosed my thyroid disease after 3 other Endorcrinologists missed it. I had obvious signs that the other docs overlooked. I had bald spots at my temples and obvious eyelid retraction. He’s been my doctor for the past ten years and I couldn’t be happier. If you want a competent Endorcrinologist he is the one for you. He doesn’t take insurance but you get your moneys worth for sure.

Dr. Guttler has been my thyroid doctor for years, and has been a terrific find for me. He is lightyears ahead of other thyroid specialists I have tried, including some UCLA's thyroid research specialists who were less than satisfactory. Dr. Guttler has a refreshingly direct approach, yet listens to what I have to say as a patient. He offers the latest solutions, medications and is on the cutting edge of working/designing new tools to come up with solutions for his patients. He is genuinely curious, concerned and kind. I definitely recommend him to my friends and colleagues.

After a career in Real Estate of 20+ years, I took to the road in an expedite truck and did well for 6 years driving to each state in the continental U.S. In August of 2004, I became so weak; walking was an effort at 54years old. I went to a clinic in Paw Paw, MI - they did some testing there and said I had Thyroid disease. My sister gave me a book on Thyroid Disease and Dr. Guttler's name was in the back of the book in Santa Monica, CA. As luck would have it; I was given a run to California, called and fortunately the office gave me an appointment with Dr. Guttler.
