Sierra Madre Police Department

Please don't kill the bear in Bailey Canyon! I'm a Sierra Madre resident and I hike regularly in the foothills. We all know the risk. I beg you, please don't kill the bear.

I'm a parent of two, single parent too, when they were teens, at my last straw, needed a strong hand, marched them straight into the SMPD and said "better tell him something before I kill em" they'd take whatever one it was in the back and counsel them, tell THEM all the stuff they needed reminding of, mind ur mom, get good grades, be respectful etc etc, then they'd make them apologize to me....today they are the BEST CITIZENS EVER, thanks for the support ! I love them so much and I admire the dept becuz they never looked at me like I was nuts, ha!

I was there about 53 years ago. I lived at 205 N. Hermosa. I was only 8 years old. I had got up on the roof of the Sierra Madre Elem School to retrieve a baseball. I broke a tile shingle in order to get my baseball. Yep, they caught me. Took me into the police station and held me until my parents came. They were very nice to me. They told me to never do that again. What an venture that was
