(December 7, 2018, 10:59 am)Pacoima Dam is 372 feet tall, 640 feet long, and 100 feet thick at its base. When completed in 1929, it was the tallest dam in the world. Today, it keeps mountain runoff from flooding the Valley floor, and helps to recharge the ground-water supply. You can see it from Contract Point. There is no public access.
