“I decided to educate myself about water filtration and purification so that I could make the best choice for my family. Boy did that take me down a rabbit hole! I spent months contacting various companies, talking to sales people and scientists, even contacting NSF International to better understand the claims some companies were making. I finally found Jim McMahon at Sweetwater. He was extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer all my questions in detail. He helped me synthesize everything I had been learning into a cohesive framework, and then explained in depth how his systems worked. His systems made sense, did what they claimed to do, and were a great value for their quality. I decided to purchase the Urban Defender for whole-house filtering and a reverse osmosis unit for drinking water (I live in Los Angeles). It is hard to explain the sense of satisfaction and safety I feel knowing that the water I bathe in and drink is healthy. I wish everyone--especially those who live in cities--had access to pure, healthy water. Unfortunately, this is not currently the case and the water my family uses is truly a luxury. Once the filters were in place, I could no longer smell chlorine and the water had a fresh, pure feeling that my shower head filter had never been able to achieve. The water from the ro system is sweet, clean and delicious. We have had our system in place for just over a year and are about to change some of the filters (you can sign up to be reminded of when a filter change is due). The water is just as wonderful as on the first day. Replacing our filters is costing $158 this year. Having healthy, delicious water from every tap, however, is priceless! ”
