(April 30, 2018, 9:13 am)I hiked this trail dozens of times, it's a definite favorite. South of the Blue Ridge Campground the trail has an excellent night time view of the desert and city lights. The trail intersects Hwy 2 near Lightning Ridge and from nearby Inspiration Point it's supposedly possible to view Catalina Island on a good day. I've been looking for years off and on and have never yet happened chance upon a good day thanks to California smog or weather or? So, don't be discouraged if you don't see the ocean - just keep looking, keep hiking.
