  Wow! What an unexpected but great afternoon. My husband and I took our 5 year old. The volunteers working allowed us to look around at our leisure but also shared interesting information and set up a panning for gold experience!

  Great visit❣
  We had a wonderful opportunity to see just about everything, very cool.
  Great historic resource.
  Only open Monday in winter and I don't think every Monday at that. Hopefully open more days in summer.
  Very much worth a visit.
  Loved the Native American displays and the settlers exhibits too.

  This little out of the way museum is definitely worth a stop. Lots of interesting tools, artifacts, photos, etc. Docents were knowledgeable. We learned a lot. So glad that the Historical Society is preserving this information.

  The Coarsegold Museum is closed for the winter season. There are plans to open in the Spring. I visited to conduct some business with the on-site store.
  
  Located just south of the entrance to the Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino, the Coarsegold Museum preserves and commemorates local Native and historic people, places, and things for this part of the Sierra Nevada foothill region. On your next visit to this area, be sure to stop by the Museum and help preserve local history. There are many stories, displays, and photographs I'm sure you can appreciate.
