We've gone to the Blue Heron for 4 years or so to celebrate birthdays, and to have dinner for no special occasion. We live in Mariposa, CA, which requires an hour of driving to get there. But...it's worth it!! We've always had great food, wonderful service, and we enjoy the atmosphere. It's one of the few restaurants to have tablecloths and cloth napkins in the foothills, and the food is served with a pleasing visual experience. We'll continue to frequent this establishment.
Great community restaurant. I recommend the Blue Heron Chicken with baked potato and veggies. The carnitas tacos were good, not super authentic but good. The starter bread and garlic butter was really good. We'll definitely be back.
Awesome music with Executive Rockers! Had a great time! Update: Having visited this restaurant 4+ years now, we love the Blue Heron and the bar/grill. If you are thinking of moving here this is a great place for dinner and a drink...and btw...the bruschetta is better here than many others if not all high end restaurants! Looking forward to more YLP LIVE! Dane Henderson tomorrow night! Oct 1, 2022.
If you’re in the mood for heaping plates of finger licking delicious food, look no further. The pork belly burnt ends eggs benedict had me questioning everything I’d ever known of the traditional eggs Benedict. The sweet and savory chunks of pork belly are typically not something a person would have with their benedict, but the combination of honey glazed sweetness and creamy feel good hollindaise had my mouth watering. An unlikely pair perfectly orchestrated into a magnificent dish. Of course one cannot visit this cheeky little German restaurant without trying the Belgian waffles. The Monkey waffles were the true heroes in todays Sunday brunch. The delightful pairing of homemade fluffy waffles, thick and creamy (also homemade) whipped cream topping, bananas, caramel drizzle and granola was to die for. What made this dish so wonderful was its ability to feel like a delicious treat without the over-dramatic sweetness. It took all of my willpower to resist licking the plate clean. I have found a new favorite Coos Bay restaurant and will be back for more.
