It's just a view point on the way.
There is a little space to pull over your car and walk down the stairs to view the seal lions below on the rocks. It's too far away for a clear view with naked eyes. I could see only 2 sea lions with a binocular. There is a bench to spend some time admiring the view. But I didn't see any trail going down. Maybe it was temporarily closed.
You can take a chance here, but overall not very impressive for viewing sea lions.
Worth a quick stop off the Sir Francis Drake Blvd to see a large number of sea lions relaxing and playing their natural rocky sea shore environment.
How cool to be able to see and hear elephant seals! We ended up finding a better spot to get closer to them, but this was a picturesque view and vantage point!
Hike wasn't a hike, just a walk. 2 kids 10 & under.
Wonderful experience. There was a lot of Sea Lion activity. Barking at each other etc and the sound Carrie’d right up the cliff. We also saw what appeared to be a huge pack of either Sea Lions or Seals. We didn’t have binoculars (I recommend them for point Reyes).
It's a beautiful, up hill hike to see the sea lions. There are no fences to protect you from the steep cliff above the sea lions. Wear comfortable shoes, bring snacks and drinks. There isn't any places to buy food or drinks in the park.
