“Truly a special, remote location that isn’t too far from the city. We rented the entire bunkhouse, but food and non-water drinks were not allowed anywhere in the bunkhouse. This made enjoying the bunkhouse’s common area kind of limited. At $39/bunk bed, with 20 beds in the bunkhouse, it was a rather expensive house! Especially when we couldn’t eat and drink there, and we had to take out our trash, do some light cleaning, and replace our bedding before we left. Still, the hostel is a nice local getaway, and I recommend everyone visit at least once/one night. There is no cell phone reception or WiFi.”

“Very convenient and nice place to stay in Point Reyes. Owner was very pleasant and welcoming when I arrived. Room was clean, quiet, and cozy. I would recommend this place to singles and couples looking for a "base" while exploring the beach and Marin around Point Reyes.”

“I used to have all types of fun at this place! Me and a few friends would rent the joint and then invite people for a barbecue donations optional. The barbecue would pay for the weekend stay. We would run folks off before the debauchery got out of hand, and there was always a few ladies who were buzzed and needed to stay, for their own safety. ???? I thought it was purchased by a private owner with intentions of calling it ????. ????????♂ I need to celebrate something so I have an excuse to return.”

“Beautiful hike or bicycle ride to Coast Camp at the Point Reyes National Seashore. Park at the hostel for either the 2 mi hike or 3 mile bike ride. Although just a few sights have distant ocean views, the lovely sound of the waves on the shore can be heard from all campsites. Enclosed pit toilets, picnic table, small raised cooking grill, metal bear box, and accessible potable running water are all closeby. Bring steel wool to stuff in holes in food locker to keep mice out.”

“This old building probably built ca 1880 is great place to enjoy a cold beer at "turn-of century" wood carved bar after Point Reyes NP visit including 400 steps down to lighthouse whale watching and/or fun hike to Chimney Rock after checking out Elephant Seal Overlook. Stove in bar area is great if have just done hike in cold fog as is often the case in winter. Check out the old silver cash register. Local Boone Amber ale is my favorite.”

“Great camping spot. We stayed in number 3. Number one is the only one that I would avoid. It's practically right on the trail.”

“Great location... Private, peaceful views from the windows, the pond creek and wetland on property, yet also only minutes to town/dinner. Also close to many hikes and beach access. Check-in was as simple as it gets. Fresh local bakery bread was waiting in our room for breakfast. The host went out of his way to be accomodating to personal needs, running to the bakery in the AM to accomodate my need to eat only GF (the local GF muffins were wonderful!!). Was the perfect place for a mini Mom-vacation w/my friend!”
