Angel Island

It's a great historical hiking place for its beautiful view of the bay and historical sites along the way. But winter is probably not a good time to come, as the cafe and some of the sample rooms are closed. We've heard it's a great place for backpacking too, but the 10 sites are all booked for weekend camping for the next 6 months which is crazy.. So if you really want to book one, unless during the weekdays, you have to keep a close eye on it whenever the week becomes available.

This is a hidden gem of the bay. I spoke to many locals and travellers that had never even heard of this island. Not only are there some of the best views of the city, it is a great workout and can be completed in about 2 hours. Worth it!

This is a nice day trip from San Francisco by ferry. You can hike around the island in 2 hours and have most spectacular views. It's a state park and well preserved.

There's not enough tours for those who have mobility issues.
