(June 19, 2020, 10:01 pm)Staff is wonderful. I stay here pretty often... Mostly for 3-5 days at a time. All the staff is great. I just wish they weren't so crazy on visitors that come to see me. Other than that great staff... Rooms are clean the housekeeping lady does a great job here. Rooms are a little pricey though for what you get.. I find I spend just as much here a night that I do a higher end hotel like the doubletree... And the amenities and overall appearance of double tree is 3 times as nice as this place. Fortunately the staff makes up for the lack of amenities.
(May 9, 2020, 6:39 pm)I booked for a last-minute business trip and I have to say for the price this is hands down the best motel I have ever stayed at. I had an easy and friendly check-in, and the rooms were as expected and very clean. The location is fantastic! You're near the freeway should you need to get in and out of the area quickly. I was only 15 minutes from where I needed to go. Hands down this will be a regular go to for me when I am in the Newport or Costa mesa area. Thank you for a great stay!
(May 9, 2020, 6:24 pm)Friendly staff and great service! VERY CLEAN room with a comfy bed! Great location! Close to the beach, shops, and events like the annual OC Fair. I got what I paid for!! Honestly, the best motel I've ever stayed in.

And for me as a guest, feeling like i can be just as comfortable at the Star as i am in my own home is big for me. love the rooms and the staff. first pick out of any place when i need a few nights to crash
