Aegis Living Dana Point

When making the decision to move my mom into an assisted living facility was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make. I have been her primary caregiver for about 5 to 6 years and it was hard for me to let go. I didn't think anyone could or would care for her better than me. Plus, I didn't think she would adjust to the change. I was wrong. My mom adjusted and although her short term memory is no longer with her, every day is a new day for her. She's a lot more active than I did or could have provided for her. When I visit her she appears alert and peaceful and although she is 95 has more energy since living at Aegis. The decision and the adjustment for the move to Aegis, I believe, was harder for me than her and has taken me awhile to come to grips with the move and learn to live again with more flexibility in my personal life. Thank you to the entire staff at Aegis Dana Point for being such wonderful caregivers and friends to our mom.

Aegis has been amazing for both of our parents! Aegis has taken them in and the Aegis staff have become an extended family of support for our parents and for all of us siblings. Aegis made it possible for our parents to be together while also receiving the care they need. The memory care staff are kind, patient, unflappable and keep a calm, loving and steady supportive demeanor with all of the residents. All the staff have been so supportive of our father and keep his favorite reading material on hand in all of his favorite spots to sit and enjoy the sunlight. It is so sweet!!

We love Aegis of Dana Point for so many reasons. Both our parents are there, and moved in right before Covid. They were safe, and secure, during that trying time. We had enormous peace of mind that they were in a loving, caring environment, with all their needs met. They love the food, the stimulating activities, the talented entertainers, and we all love the staff. There’s only the highest quality team of Med techs, LVNs, cooks, maintenance, and admin staff. When it’s hard for other businesses to find qualified people, Aegis retains theirs because it’s such a wonderful environment. We give it 5 stars, and recommend it without reservation for anyone considering care for their loved ones. Aegis has been an essential partner in navigating the waters of care with expertise, resources, and compassion during the aging process.

I moved my husband to the memory care unit at Aegis of Dana Point over six years ago, after having visited numerous other memory care facilities in the area. What stands out about Aegis is that not only do they provide exceptional, individual care but they embrace you as ‘family.’ The GM, administrative staff, housekeeping, nursing staff, caregivers - EVERYONE is so compassionate and treat the residents with dignity. It’s so comforting to know and see that my husband is being well cared for and is treated with such kindness as he lives with such a challenging disease. Also of note, the Aegis family’s compassion extends to family members. They have seen me through many heartbreaking moments. I would definitely recommend Aegis of Dana Point for your loved one’s care!

I honestly feel like Aegis Assisted living is the best AL home in all of OC. The team at Aegis simply does everything right. When they first told me about service they provide, it seemed too good to be true, especially since I brought my dear elder friend from a nursing home that was horrible. They took care of my friend in exactly the way they said. They bend over backwards to help you and have deeply thought through the needs of their clients. It is expensive but worth it! They provided excellent care and were very well staffed. Plus, they think of everything you need even before you say you need it. So grateful for choosing Aegis. You will be too!!
