John B Shepherd, DMD

I've been going to Dr Shepherd (and Dr Kvarnstrom before him), for a long time, and I am very grateful to have found this place. Growing up I was one of those fearing every dental visit, very scared of pain. I feel glad to say I don't have that fear anymore. Dr Shepherd makes sure I know every step of my treatment, and I feel calm knowing he and his staff will walk me through without discomfort, taking time to listen as well as explain. The office has also been very helpful and flexible when making appointments which I'm very grateful for.

I'm a periodontal patient, so I've gone to many dentist offices in my time. I like this dentist more than the others I've gone to previously. I've known the dental hygienists there for years, and they do wonderful work, as it's needed with my gum problem. The dentist noticed I was grinding my teeth so they got me a night guard for bruxism. Jessie is an awesome office manager, and gets me the best appointment times available. She is also great at communicating with my insurance company for me. I bring my son here too. No one looks forward to a dental visit, but all of my visits here were painless. Thank you.

We have a new fantastic family dentist in Fountain Valley. Dr. Shepherd is very efficient, accomplished, and gives his patients complete dental work satisfaction. He recently completed a complex bridge procedure for my wife and we are both very satisfied. He performed the entire procedure without any discomfort. I am very happy with his work and will continue to see him for all of my future dental needs. He is very personable and explains everything in detail. Great dentist!

Best dentist ever!!! Dr. Shepherd and his staff are all top notch! They are welcoming and always make you feel comfortable, and he has the best bedside manners I’ve ever experienced from a dentist. Another great thing that I value is that they are always on time and don’t make you wait, yet they never make you feel rushed, they always take their time to explain everything and give you options. I know I’m in great hands here, I have had my fair share of bad experiences in the past with other dentists, and drive all the way from West Los Angeles to his office in Fountain Valley, but it’s definitely worth the drive, and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I am always welcomed by a warm and genuine staff, from the office personnel, to the assistance, to Martha the hygienist and Dr. Shepherd himself. I trust their expertise am always pleased when leaving. Most recently, I needed a filling while having a routine cleaning. After Dr. Shepherd's examination per request of the hygienist, I asked if the filling would be possible to do during that appointment time. He obliged. In doing so, we did not discuss cost. Within the hour of leaving the office, I received a call that the additional charge for the filling would be refunded as we did not discuss any charges. That is 100% top notch service!!!
