Awesome desserts and awesome service I'll definitely be coming back!
Great place, fun environment. Quite a decent sized space with a couch and about seating for 25 and some bar seating spots. They don't just do gelato but also drinks. With 25 flavors and some unique packaging. They have clear plastic jars for their ice cream. We tried the captain crunch fronut (frozen donut) great choice under $5.
Atmosphere: 5 (music, bright, some interior decor)
Food Quality: 3 (Some flavors only had a few scoops or so. Others weren't filled.)
Service: 3 (2 people working. One making drinks another at the register no one else scooping. Long wait.)
Cleanliness: 5 ( Very bright and arguably very clean.)
4 stars. I'd be back again.
This place is amazing if you have a sweet tooth , a must try is "Bae" yes that the name of a item here and it's a must try
I've actually never seen Frozen the movie so I'm not going to do the cheesy mention of "Do you wanna build a snowman? Like I wanted to.
With Afters and their Milky Bun sensation it was only a matter of time before we saw a 2nd stuffed, ice cream donut, but wait this isn't ice cream. This is Gelato. Fronut. It's served warmer and has less fat and air so you'd think it melts faster, nope. I think it's because they don't seal them here at such a high temp as to melt the ice cream like how they do at Afters.
So Gelato vs. Ice Cream. Close, but not the same. Gelato is healthier due to more natural earthy flavors and less fat content, but less air so really more of a dense item. While I found the Afters flavors interesting I find the Frozen Bar's offerings more refined, more well thought out and more complex. The ice cream case with pops and premade offerings versus the usual point and scoop offerings is great offering. The 1 thing that Afters does well is ergo of getting hundreds of people in and out. Frozen has no flow, everyone in and out in the same 8-9 feet between the limited indoor seating and the wall.
I really like the décor though, eventhough it's a little too glittery imo. Prices are good, parking is shared and not the greatest.
Flavors are just as eclectic and interesting as Afters with flavors like Thai Tea, Taro, Red Velvet, guava and other vibrate fruit flavors. Their service is certainly better than Afters as everyone is greeted with a smile and they are friendly. You can tell that Afters people are just stressed out and maybe overworked because they are not cordial. I'd rather not downgrade Afters from 5-4, but prefer this place. A great place to get dessert after East-West Shabu Shabu or GZ Café.......hahaha.
Cute little shop in the corner plaza on Brookhurst and Garden Grove; same plaza as Oc & Lau and Munchies.
They have all sorts of gelato and ice cream bars. Similar to the ones at Popbar inside Anaheim Packing House. I didn't try a bar but got to taste a number of gelato flavors. We ended up settling with 2 scoops of salted caramel and the caramel crunch. Both were really good and satisfied the sugar cravings.
Frozen bar is modern and bright. The staff are super sweet as well! I will definitely be back next time I crave dessert.
