Free to parking and it was very pretty.

My most favorite beach i have been to.beautiful wide clean beach, never crowded, easy access from PCH and the motel i stay at....also wonderful eating establishment's like. taco surf and the harbor house and don the beachcomber.....this plus fabulous orange county southern California weather with that beautiful blue sky....and beautiful sunsets...

Sunset Beach is definitely one of the best Orange County Beaches! There is plenty of free parking very close to the water's edge. They have lifeguard stations and also have lifeguards that drive up and down in vehicles. You feel very safe! It is not super crowded which makes it so much more relaxing. This is the local's beach, not the tourists. I've been enjoying this beach since I was a little girl and I love that it is quiet and peaceful. There are no fire pits and there are restrooms by the parking.

Laid back small beach community with nice quiet beach but parking limited. Still has old village seaside vibe with tattoo shops and no fast food chains except a Jack in box. Some paddling /paddle boarding excursions in back Bay but town is primarily hi-end residential and not set up for tourists. There is bolsa chica state beach right after you pass sunset going southbound along pch hey.
