My golf instructor sent me to Hansen Fitness for Golf because I wasn't strong enough or flexible enough to really improve at the game. I got so strong that I needed to upgrade my clubs with stiffer shafts. My instructor said that he doesn't usually have to do that with golfers of my "mature stature". (I'm 72) I am able to make changes to my swing that I never would have been capable of before going to Mike. Even better, my wife said to me "You have shoulders"!
One morning while waiting for my coffee at Starbucks, I was practicing my golf swing and a gentleman started a conversation with me about the golf swing. We talked a couple of minutes and he said it was important to remain flexible and improve balance if you desire to get better. He indicated he was a plus handicap and continues to exercise to improve and maintain his flexibility. I asked him if he was aware of a golf fitness trainer in Orange County. He suggested Michael Hansen in Irvine. I contacted Michael that week and shortly thereafter begin training with him. It has been almost 2 years now and my flexibility and balance have improved significantly. Although I am over 80 years old, have seen an improvement in my golf game by making better contact, being more consistent and adding distance to my drives. I also have benefited by having better balance when not on the golf course.
I've worked with Mike Hansen for almost 10 years.
He really understands the golf swing, is talented and has helped me in several areas.
1. Training with Mike has helped me prevent or at least reduce injuries.
2. Mike creates a program that allows me continue to train if I do have isolated injuries.
3. His Focus on Balance, Mobility and Flexibility are very GOLF specific and quite different than general fitness training.
4. Mike has greatly helped improve my swing sequence and transition.
