UCI Police Department

I had a fantastic experience with the UCIPD. I was lucky enough to work as an intern for my field study for 10 weeks. During my time there I was exposed to many experiences that gave me so much insight into the hard work and dedication that the UCIPD staff put in to serve their community. Everyone is passionate about what they do and there wasn't a single day where I felt out of place. I would highly recommend anybody (UCI student or not) to participate in one of their programs like the 'community police academy' or 'field study'. You'll be surprised when see what such a small but high quality police department can accomplish.

My team and I took the Active Shooter Training. Officer Nick provided the presentation and he was very clear and engaging. It was a very informative training and I definitely feel more prepared. If UCI encounters any dangers or threats, I feel very confident that the UCI PD will engage at a moment's notice.

I gained valuable knowledge from the UCI Community Police Academy. Thank you to all the sworn and non-sworn personnel who took the time to educate students and faculty about the department's mission and core values. I appreciate the transparency and willingness to educate the community about important issues in policing.

My experience as an intern at UCI Police Department was more that I could have ever asked for. There's is an amazing group of people willing to help the community and educate any that is interested in the field. Everyone was always very welcoming and open to share their experiences in their different specialized fields. Thank you to all the staff and officers that taught me in this internship that helped me shaped my goals for the upcoming future.

Police officers and staff there are very approachable, helpful, and extremely professional! Their actions have proven that they genuinely care about UCI community's overall security and safety as top priorities. They have also shown a lot of great effort in maintaining a positive relationship between all community members and UCIPD. And most importantly, they are open to feedback and take them seriously!
