“The teaching is pretty good, though the student to teacher ratio is pretty trash. 1 teacher per 25 students. The rooms are pretty small for 25 people, and only one room has windows. It all depends on the teacher you get, as some rooms are better than others. I preferred the old location at Concordia University, but that was a long time ago.”

“After months of planning and shopping around for plane tickets, I finally decided to check off “Visit Beijing” on my dreams list. One problem though, my Chinese is almost non-existent! I felt like I absolutely needed to learn at least a couple of basic sentences to be able to get around, so I checked and reached out to a couple of schools. Tonesheen Fly Academy was one of the first schools to reach out to me and invite me to check out their campus. I decided to stop by after visiting their website and reading their philosophy, which I thought was pretty interesting. Ms. Wang greeted me when I arrived and gave me a tour of the campus. The campus was well kept and colorful. The employees were very friendly and greeted me with a smile. Ms. Wang offered to give me a free demo class to see if I liked her teaching style, which I, of course, accepted. I liked the class a lot and she recommended the tutoring class so I could learn as much of the language before I went on my trip! The classes themselves were great. We started off slowly (my fault) but sped up as I started to get the tones and basic words down. Ms. Wang was incredibly patient and allowed me plenty of time to go over things I was confused about. We went over the basics in ways that really stuck with me and helped me a lot in the later classes. One of the things I really liked was the way the lessons tied in with Chinese culture. Food, travel, art, politics, and philosophy were all topics of discussion which was really engaging. In later classes we even started discussing and practicing Chinese calligraphy! I thought that was really cool! Overall I had a great time and learned a lot! I have a much better grasp and understanding of the language and the culture! Although I do have more to learn, I will definitely be able to get around! Thank you so much Ms. Wang!”

“We have been going to Tampopo for almost 7 years combined for my two daughters and we cannot say enough good things about this school. I love the small groups and intimate setting that makes the kids feel like they’re a part of a big family. The curriculum is robust and my kids can effortlessly speak and write Japanese in huge part to what they have learned at Tampopo!”

“I have had Feliks as my cello teacher for a little over a year now and he has really helped bring up my technical and musical level. He is very particular and straightforward in his approach. He maticulously pushed me to learn every piece to perfection, all the while helping me understand why every aspect of playing was important. I started leaning cello at alot later than kids usually start (age 15) and Feliks really helped foster my talents and propel me forward. Because of him, I was accepted into the Royal Danish Academy of Music! His rate may be considered pricy, but he is worth every penny.”

“As a former student, I know that the first years of schooling are rough, but by the end of it all the system seems to make more sense. The teachers here were lovely and prepared me well for middle school at Lakeside. I remember the push for actual art classes and music courses to help us all become well rounded students. The librarian was my favorite, she would help me to learn more about the world I was interested in, space, the planets and exploration. The events they held were inclusive and fun for all grades there, and i dare say it, the parents too. :-) Thanks for the great education and for starting me on a good path to my future.”

“I toured so many different schools in the area and ultimately chose to enroll my infant son at St Andrews. He is now a toddler and he loves his teachers and loves going to school!! They give him lots of love and individual attention. You just have to be clear in letting them know if your child needs any special attention for certain things (as mine did). The teachers did a fantastic job helping my baby transition into school schedule, helping him feel safe and have fun, while being communicative with us parents. I am so grateful for the wonderful staff at St Andrews.”

“Came into this location for the first time on my lunch break and probably had some of the best service at a chipotle ever. Vibes were high, everyone looked like they were having a great time, and I was in and out in under 5 minutes. Whatever they are doing different here with rice keep doing it, straight fire. Everyone on todays shift needs a raise”

“Code Ninjas is a great place for kids to learn coding while having fun! This specific location is my favorite because the staff is wonderful and always very helpful. Schedule flexibility is a big deal for us and they go out of their way to help us out. Also, they include one hour of STEAM along with an hour of coding which is amazing!”
