Question: If you could bring your kid to a basketball camp every week being taught by a young Steve Nash AND Phil Jackson, that would be good, right?
Right now, there’s kind of a Sabre fencing equivalent to that dream scenario happening at LFC, and I’m pretty jazzed about it!
It’s kind of funny because I think even a lot of the parents don’t quite comprehend just how exceptional the coaching is here. I fenced womans sabre at the UCLA club (not NCAA unfortunately), and Mariel Zagunis was the inspiration for ALL the girls back in the day. Olympian Gold medalist many times. Look her up. And now her coach Ed Korfanty is at LFC. That’s the Phil Jackson. Then you have the quick, smart and deadly Nickolay Kovalev (Steve Nash 😉) multi-Olympian, World Champion. Look him up. His bout videos are training tapes for normal humans.
My daughter loves it! Such a great experience!! My son is on deck next year! Yay!
I came to Laguna Fencing with ZERO knowledge about fencing. I was nervous about getting started, but from the first class I was made to feel welcomed. I did group lessons for nine months and loved it! The coaches are very knowledgeable, and are happy to answer questions. The coaches are great too that they take time to point out what you are doing well, and also help you see where you can improve. :-)
Great club and coaches. I take as many group classes as I can and take private lessons from Coach Mike who is a knowledgeable and patient coach. I love Sabre fencing.
I’ve been training at this club for 11 years. Wonderful Coaches and facility. I was able to get into my dream school of Notre Dame with help from Coach Nick
Our son has been fencing here for at least 4 years and has really benefitted from his time with coach Nick and the other coaches. The classes help the kids work together and individually while giving them athletic skills beyond just fencing.
They ask a lot of the kids and do not pamper them, which is a much more useful life skill than a lot of the "everybody gets a medal for just showing up" you see in some kids sports activities out there today.
