I have seen Dr. Micah Yu for several visits remotely so far since I live at least a couple of hours away from his office. Micah is extremely personable and knowledgeable. Unlike most rheumatologists, he looks at your whole health picture and utilizes not only his rheumatology background, but also lifestyle, functional and integrative medicines. In other words, he doesn't just address symptoms like most doctors. He addresses your issues as well as your overall health. Thank you Micah for your attentively expert knowledge. Dr. Yu has been my rheumatologist since September 2021. It was a blessing to find him as I had been searching for an integrative M.D. rather than yet another conventional rheumatologist. Even better yet that he is plant based and licensed to treat me virtually. During my first visit it was obvious that he is caring, a good listener and really wanted to help me. He was very empathetic concerning my pain and challenges and began to develop a starting point and a plan. I finally had some hope that I would feel and get better. Over the next few visits I was so impressed that he was seeking out, listening to and respecting my input into the treatment plan and not just dictating what should be done. It is a comprehensive and individual plan of stress management, movement, sleep, food, medication and supplements. Every step of the way we analyze what works and what doesn't and what could be added, taken away or changed. He really seems to understand that it's a process that takes time with the eventual goal of needing him less rather than a dependence on medical care and pharmaceuticals. I would highly recommend Dr. Yu as it is a breath of fresh air to partner with a caring and knowledgable physician who combines conventional and alternative medicine.
