We're lucky to have a world-class, full service retail shop like Lemur close to home here in Orange County. From pickup purchase and installs to set-ups, I have had many great experiences with Lemur Music.
Toni and family have been in business over 30 years specializing in upright basses. They commission they commission several models made to their specifications based on ideal gusty important basses. We purchased a Tosca model that is absolutely beautiful sounding at its price point. If their is a problem or adjustment needed, Toni and her highly skilled luthier will troubleshoot the issue and repIr it. They truly stand by their products! Plus they whole team is always a pleasure to work with and learn from.
I went to Lemur to purchase my first double bass. I found Lemur on recommendation from my Daughters violin teacher. I’m so happy I followed through on the recommendation. I worked with Chris who helped me find a bass that met my needs and spent extra time to help answer all my newbie question. He also demonstrated on each bass that he suggested which was not only critical since I don’t know how to play (yet) but also very impressive, inspiring, and enjoyable to listen to. Not too many double bass shops to choose from and I do live nearby an hours drive away, but it was totally worth the time.
Couldn't be happier with the work that Jason did on my bass. He was incredibly accommodating and very generous with his time. In addition to doing an excellent fingerboard dressing for me, he fixed things I didn't even know were wrong/off with my bass! 10/10 repair shop IMO.
